Ashley Hutson grew up in Manassas and graduated from Osbourn Park High School followed by Christopher Newport University where she received a degree in Spanish with a minor in Communication. Ashley and her husband bought a home in the City of Manassas in 2020 after renting an apartment in Old Town.

As the Director of Member Engagement, she focuses on business growth, advocacy, and events. In her tenure with HCCA, she has been heavily involved in Workforce Development initiatives across the state including local career fairs and the heavy equipment operator program offered at Virginia’s Community Colleges. Spreading awareness about rewarding construction careers has become one of Ashley’s most dedicated efforts.

Ashley was elected to Manassas City Council in November of 2024 and became the youngest woman to serve in the Council’s 150 year history. Ashley proudly works alongside the Mayor and Council to represent the interests of the 40,000+ residents in the City of Manassas. In her capacity on City Council, she serves on the Parks & Recreation Committee, the Appointments Committee, The Northern Virginia Regional Commission, and the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board(alternate).

Ashley has also served on the Manassas Board of Building Code Appeals, the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board Community Advisory Committee, the Perkins Grant Committee for Osbourn High School, and the VDOT Career Fair Planning Committee.
